Newcastle United Thursday Links: Early Again!

Our James Perch image library is... interesting.

Hello, folks-- it's another early morning for me which means I'm ahead of the online news cycle again, so I'll share the links I can and y'all can feel to fill in the blanks in the comments. James Perch makes the cut today while there is much interest in our interest in several Championship players. Let's jump!

Demba Ba and Pappis Cisse could retrun for Newcastle's game at Blackburn | Mail Online

Newcastle have been handed an unexpected boost with the news that Demba Ba and new signing Papiss Cisse will be back on Tyneside next week - and they could feature in their game with Blackburn at Ewood Park on Wednesday.

This, of course, was the big news over the last 24 hours. In the modern age of social media, reactions are instant and permanent, and I was a little saddened at the overt celebrations by Toon supporters. I doubt there will be any severe repercussions if Demba sifts through and sees them... but it just seemed tat there could have been a bit more sympathy before the celebrations. Probably just me being a bleeding heart, though.

"I have never once been told that I am not needed. I know I am needed. Every time I am asked to play I have to do my best, even if it was the last 15 minutes of games, for now." Pardew’s approach to his fringe men has certainly benefited Perch. While other managers take an ‘out of sight, out of mind’ approach to those not participating the United boss and his coaching team have been at pains to involve those on the edges of the team. So while Perch had been written off by many black-and-white observers after a tough start to his Newcastle career, Pardew has been able to rely on him after he was called in from the cold.

Watford stung by Newcastle United bid for Adrian Mariappa - NUFC News - NUFC - JournalLive

WATFORD have accused Newcastle United of showing a lack of respect and trying to unsettle Adrian Mariappa.

So let me get this straight. We make a solid cash offer for a player and we're trying to unsettle him. 'arry makes comments on the contract status of Demba Ba without any intent of making an offer, and he's just talking? Got it.

Pardew ponders delving into Championship pool (From The Northern Echo)

Watford defender Adrian Mariappa, Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha and Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez are all on his radar, but there are significant hurdles to overcome if the Magpies want to complete a deal for any of the trio.

Jay Rodriguez is a new name that's popping up... but seems unlikely as we're receiving the early arrival of Papiss Demba Cisse and Demba Ba. It's going more and more silent on the CB front, which may be a good thing.

Feel free to share as the news really starts rolling in about 45 minutes or so!
