Newcastle United appear to be going after a top flight striker during the summer transfer window and now have been linked again to Wilfried Bony, putting in a £12 million bid for the Ivory Coast international according to talkSPORT. The Magpies have been linked to Bony in the past, as well as top target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but some thought that Mike Ashely might not spend the necessary money to secure one of the two.
Recently however with the addition of Joe Kinnear, the former Magpie manager has apparently convinced Ashely that a top level striker is a must add for the Toon during the summer.
The 24-year old forward has been excellent since arriving with Vitesse, scoring 31 goals in 30 appearances in Eredivisie. It's rumored that Vitesse is holding out for £15 million with other suitors in the works, but his valuation on TransferMarkt.com is in the £10 million range.
As everything before the transfer window however, don't believe anything until the player puts on a Toon kit.
