The summer transfer window has been shockingly quiet for Newcastle United, outside of putting in a failed bid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, it's been limited to just rumors and links to supposed targets. One target it appears to Toon are actually interested in is Lyon striker Bafitmibi Gomis.
According to multiple reports, Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has publicly acknowledged the Toon's interest in the French striker, who they've bid on in the past.
Gomis has capped 12 times for the France national team with three goals and picked up 16 goals in 37 appearances with Lyon last season. There are a number of other clubs also after Gomis, but the transfer fee for what it would take to get him has yet to be mentioned.
