Good morning, Toon Army. Good news for HBA's future with the club! Read about it after the jump.

"I will relish the day that I'm able to pull on a black and white shirt again." - Hatem ben Arfa

After the initial shock of hearing about Hatem ben Arfa's broken leg wore off, I immediately began thinking of his contract situation, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. HBA's loan agreement includes a clause that he becomes Newcastle property if he plays 25 games for the Magpies this year, which will now certainly not happen. Word came down on Wednesday that L'Olympique Marseille will not block a potential Newcastle purchase of ben Arfa's contract. (Lee Ryder, The Chronicle) This is a surprise to me, given the drama that took place during the transfer window, and I find it to be very relieving. For his part, ben Arfa is thankful for the outpouring of support he has received from the Toon Army. (NUFC Official Site) We've said it before and we'll say it again: Get well soon, Hatem!

Reserve team manager Peter Beardsley has been very impressed with Shane Ferguson. (Lee Ryder, The Chronicle)

I thought I was starting to get over my anger toward Manchester City, and then this bit of news came out. I believe the proper British-ism is "Jog on, Citizens!" (CaughtOffside)
