Newcastle United are scheduled to play Sporting Kansas City in a friendly match this summer, according to a tweet by Robb Heineman, President of the Missouri-based Major League Soccer club.
The tweet, sent about an hour ago, has already caused speculation about a North American tour not unlike the tour recently announced by Manchester United which includes the Red Devils playing in the MLS All Star Game in New York. Multiple cities have not yet been confirmed, though the speculation doesn't seem to be terribly irresponsible, as a one-city stopover on a different continent doesn't seem to be very cost-effective.
