We find ourselves with 41 points this week, and though not mathematically safe from relegation, it does seem that the time for real worrying is over. Alan Pardew has said that the focus of Newcastle United FC is a top ten finish. That would be an over achievement, but at this point it's a wonderful thing to aim for. Follow us past the jump as we round up some links and try to see if a strong finish is in the cards.

Steve Harper may have to undergo a knee surgery, according to BBC Sport. This would be worrisome for the club if we didn't have such great prospects in Tim Krul and Frazer Forster.

A quick round up from The Journal has Alan Pardew receiving his transfer budget, Kevin Nolan on the new Top 10 focus of the club, and an interesting piece on Chris Hughton's time in the Prem.

Speaking of Kevin Nolan, he will be fit to meet Andy Carroll and Liverpool this weekend, that is, according to The Chronicle.

Brian McNally of Mirror Football is answering Michael Owen's tweeting and setting Owen in his place a bit, calling him the "biggest waste of money in the club's history!"

Finally, Alan Pardew is encouraging Peter Lovenkrands to be more greedy in front of goal. Citing his Blackpool goal as exactly the reason why.
