Europa League Group D: Club Brugge vs. Newcastle United

Brugge play under a caretaker while the Toon Army try their best to evade Belgian police.

Newcastle can all but guarantee progression to the knockout round of the Europa League with a win against Club Brugge today, but the road could get complicated if they're unable to press their advantage. Cheik Tiote and Fabricio Coloccini, each suspended for multiple league matches due to red cards, are expected to play, and Xisco has received a surprise (sort of) call-up. Staying behind in England are Demba Ba, Hatem Ben Arfa, Jonas Gutierrez, Steve Harper, and Danny Simpson. Might we see Rob Elliot between the sticks?

Brugge, who fell to Newcastle 1-0 at St James' Park in the previous matchup, will be led by caretaker manager Philippe Clement following the sacking of Georges Leekens. It sounds look good news initially, but beware of the team motivated to impress their new manager while vindicating their old boss. An away draw is honestly a perfectly acceptable result for the group leader, though the presence of Tiote and Colo will certainly raise expectations.

None of the mods are able to watch this match that I'm aware of, so play nice and police yourselves (and post lots of pics). Have fun, boys and girls.
