It's Friday morning, which means that tomorrow-- is not game day. We'll have another day of wait again before we head to The Hawthornes to see WBA. In the mean time, there is a very short set of links today, complete with a present for our very own johnjmurphy17!

Following the jump, we have some Demba Ba, some memories from last year's Hawthornes fixture, ideas on recruiting and the aforementioned present. (Told you the links were short.) If I don't run out of time, a music video, as well!

"It is rumours like you get in football," said Ba. "I am happy with Newcastle and I enjoy being here and playing for the Toon Army. I enjoy being in this team. "We have a good team spirit and I love the north east, where I have my country-mate, Papiss Cisse."

Talk talk talk... Must trump up interest in the summer window 6 weeks ahead of time.

Newcastle cast around the world for fresh talent - NUFC News - NUFC - JournalLive

Newcastle – who are braced for another summer of change – are looking to recruit two defenders in the close season, a young player and senior professional.

This is the early newspaper version of our shopping list... I'll be listening to Alan Pardew as the window opens, however... he told us early in January that we would only be bringing in one player, and lo and behold.

But it was Dignity that proved to be the soundtrack of the season that year. It was a stark contrast to a cold gloomy night in December as players trudged out of the Hawthorns looking crest fallen and spent having been unable to find the necessary fight to see off the Baggies in 2010. Hughton may have gone out under a cloud at the Hawthorns in their next league visit, but where would Newcastle United be without him now?

We've already seen Hughton's fire anniversary come and go, but the WBA fixture marks the match after which he lost his job. This one was a little interesting to me... perhaps more so because Deacon Blue's song Dignity is one of my favorites.

Pardew: Ferguson ready to play his role in the run-in - NUFC News - Newcastle United - ChronicleLive

ALAN PARDEW says Shane Ferguson is finally back in contention for Newcastle United after a series of niggling injuries – just in time for the Magpies’ Europa League push. The Toon youngster has shaken off a groin problem sustained while on international duty for Northern Ireland during the 3-0 loss to Norway – a night in which Fergie’s performance was the highlight of the evening for new boss Michael O’Neill. Ferguson will be in the squad for Sunday’s game at West Bromwich Albion and is likely to be handed a slot on the bench.

Just for johnjmurphy17! Shane Ferguson will return to the first team squad sheet this weekend!
