Newcastle could tour France next summer and be fairly popular, since yet another French star has officially been signed by the Magpies. Tolouse has confirmed that Moussa Sissoko is headed Tyneside on a permanent transfer with "immediate effect". The French midfielder has been capped six times.
Sissoko meanwhile is saying all the right things about coming over to NUFC. He cites the success Newcastle had last season in his interest in the club. He calls NUFC "ideal" and considers his playing style to be well suited for the English game.
Our other latest signing, Yoan Gouffran expects the Toon to stay up. He also has kind things to say about Newcastle supporters.
Meanwhile, some other players are having a laugh at Newcastle's French shopping spree. Reading's Jimmy Kebe tweeted out that he was joining NUFC. When the British media picked up on it, because, silly season, he joked that because he's French he'd assume that he was headed there, but no, he was staying with Reading.
Since all these players in must mean people are going out, Nile Ranger may be leaving the Magpies. Ranger hasn't been linked to anyone, but it seems that he won't have to worry about Newcastle fans paying his wages anymore.
On the Coloccini front, Newcastle might sue the Argentine if he leaves. Coloccini could retire, but Newcastle says he'd have to forfeit his remaining wages.
Checking in on the opposition this week, Paul Lambert is safe at Aston Villa but he won't get any money to improve his side. SB Nation's 7500 to Holte says
Lambert has been linked with the New York Red Bulls managerial opening, though the article linked is more of a warning about following rumors that aren't backed by anything.
Villa takes on Millwall today in the FA Cup, and the fine folks at 7500 to Holte have a preview. They have some criticisms of their team.
