Toon Star To Make Wembley Debut: More Cup Finals To Follow

Curtis Good will start off a busy period of Cup Finals for Newcastle loan players.

Australian defender Curtis Good, who was at the heart of an FA Cup controversy nearly 3 months ago, could find himself with an [insert sponsor here] League Cup title to his name by this time tomorrow. The center back has stepped in capably for Bradford City at their left back position (due to injury to fellow Australian James Meredith) and has helped the club become the first 4th tier club to make a major cup final in some 40 years. The Capital One Cup Final from Wembley will kick off just after the conclusion of Newcastle's match v. Southampton tomorrow, so you may drop that on your radar - surely the live thread party will continue for this excellent occasion. If Good and Bradford City prevail, Swansea City will be their fourth Premier League scalp claimed in their march to the cup.

But wait! There's more! Order now, and we'll send you TWO MORE CUP FINALS at NO EXTRA COST

Two weeks later, midfielder Conor Newton and defender Paul Dummett will try to help St. Mirren prevail over Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Communities League Cup Final at Hampden Park (Scotland's Wembley). As a Heart of Midlothian fan, I'm going to have to go ahead and root against the lads in this case - but you guys can go ahead and pick your own sides.

Conor Newton was involved in St. Mirren's opener in the semi-final against massive favorites Celtic, getting his cross onto the foot of Esmael Goncalves as the Buddies started on their way to a massive upset to reach the final. Paul Dummett has made 22 appearances for St. Mirren (20 starts in all competitions) and is registered to the club for the League Cup, so could feature in the final as well on St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) at 9 am (CST). This will kick off an hour prior to Newcastle's match against Wigan Athletic (10 am CST kick)

Did I say two? I SAID TWO!

Two weeks from that date, midfielder Bradden Inman will take the pitch at Wembley for League One side Crewe Alexandria in the Johnstone's Paint Cup Final against League Two side Southend United. Inman has been in fine goal-scoring form for Crewe with 6 goals in 16 appearances including two away goals in the first leg of their semi-final tie with Coventry City which they would ultimately win 3-2 to make the final. This match will kick off at 7:15 CST on Sunday, April 7 - Newcastle will play on Saturday, so there will be no tie-in or overlapping for this one - keep an eye out to see if we will run a live thread for this final.

Soooo... there you have it. Newcastle United themselves have not had a cup success in 44 years (domestic cups even longer, of course), but they could see four of their young players as cup champions in just a month's time.
