To add injury to the insult that was the Tyne-Wear Derby, manager Alan Pardew confirmed in his post-match interview that goalkeeper Tim Krul has dislocated his shoulder and will not return this season.

Krul injured the shoulder when he landed awkwardly on it in the 57th minute of Newcastle's 0-3 loss to Sunderland Sunday. He was immediately replaced by Rob Elliot.
It's obviously a blow for Newcastle. Tim Krul had just returned from an ankle injury that kept him out for about a month. Elliot will once again step in and be the starter, and now Pardew will have an awkward choice to make where the bench is concerned. He will either need to name Steve Harper, who has made public comments about being pushed out of the club this summer, or Jak Alnwick, who is by most accounts not ready for top flight football. Newcastle have five fixture left in the season and will play West Bromwich Albion next on 20 April.
