Newcastle defender Ryan Taylor has suffered yet another injury to his right knee, according to the Newcastle United Official Site. Taylor, who had surgery on his knee in August after he injured it in a Europa League match with Atromitos, had originally targeted the Tyne-Wear Derby for a return to the pitch, but had pushed it back two weeks before suffering this most recent setback. The club now believes that he will miss "most, if not all" of next season.
It's a humongous blow for the 28 year-old free kick specialist, as well as for the club. Raylor was no doubt part of Alan Pardew's plans for the Europa League, and his absence this season was just part of the injury and fitness problems that plagued the club all year long. I remain hopeful that he will be able to return to the club and play for many years, but would not be surprised if he's kicked his last ball over the wall for Newcastle. Get well, Ryan.
