After all the ups, downs, and probably a loop-dee-loop or two, Newcastle's season comes to a close today with a home match against Arsenal. The lads are safe from relegation and are only playing for positioning today. Here's some links to get you set.

Perhaps the biggest question facing Newcastle right now is if Alan Pardew will be managing the club next season. He says he will. "There is no uncertainty in my mind," says Pardew about him coming back to Newcastle next year.

Pardew asked the French players Newcastle signed in January to learn English when they arrived. Now, he says they must have the language down by the time pre-season comes. Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa says he doesn't mind the requirement, and says that if players buy into Pardew's philosophy, they'll be stronger next season.

Speaking of Yanga-Mbiwa, he says Newcastle should be aiming for a European spot next season. He says Newcastle is a big club that shouldn't have to worry about relegation, and feels Newcastle can finish sixth or eighth next season.

Lee Ryder seems to agree, saying things can only get better for NUFC. He points out all the injuries Newcastle have suffered, saying that's been the main thing holding back the club this year.

Another big question mark is the future of Fabricio Coloccini. Pardew says the club wants to keep him Tyneside.

Paul Dummett and Connor Newton have done well in their loan spell with Scottish side St. Mirren. So well that the club hopes to keep them. The Newcastle duo helped St. Mirren win the Scottish League Cup.

Davide Santon will maintain driving privileges, despite being caught going 99 mph in a 70 zone.

Mike Ashley has promised to divvy up one million pounds for Newcastle United staff should the club beat Arsenal today. The Mag says the players should put up that money should they lose.

For an Arsenal perspective on things, here is The Short Fuse's preview. A Champion's League spot is on the line for the Gunners.
