Newcastle United tracking Portugal striker

Valerio Pennicino

Newcastle United have been linked to a number of strikers heading into the summer transfer window and another name that has emerged is SC Braga striker Eder, as the club has made inquiries into signing him according to a report by The Daily Mail.

It is believed that the 25-year old is valued at £16 million by his club, but The Daily Mail report indicates that Newcastle owner Mike Ashley hopes the club can come to agreement around £8 million plus "add-ons". Eder is valued at £8 million currently according to TransferMarkt.com.

The Magpies are looking to add another striker to compliment Papiss Cisse after losing Demba Ba in the last transfer window. Eder debuted for SC Braga in September of 2012 and has scored 13 goals in 18 appearances, making him a hot name on the market in the Portuguese league. Eder has also made five appearances for the Portugal national team.
