So far in the transfer window, Newcastle United have been linked to several players, but as of yet nothing's happened on that front. James Perch is off to Wigan and Dan Gosling, best known for being subbed on despite everyone's wishes against West Ham, is on his way to Premiership newcomers Crystal Palace.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>I understand Dan Gosling&#39;s move to <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23cpfc&amp;src=hash">#cpfc</a> now subject to two clubs agreeing fee. Gosling just wants to play first team football. <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23nufc&amp;src=hash">#nufc</a></p>&mdash; Lee Ryder (@lee_ryder) <a href="https://twitter.com/lee_ryder/statuses/353844739587584000">July 7, 2013</a></blockquote>

It appears as if Aston Villa will be dropping their asking price for Darren Bent. They're taking 2 million pounds off the asking price.

NUFC is not quite yet out of the running for Wigan striker Arouna Kone. He is also in talks with Everton.

The Mag reports that Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis of Lyon wants to leave the French club with "his head held high" Whther a move to Newcastle helps him with that is unclear, but money talks in these cases. Financial difficulties may lead to them selling off assets.

Papiss Cisse has an idea: Alan Pardew should play him in his natural position.

Cisse also says Newcastle can 'challenge the higher end of the table'.

Davide Santon echoes those sentiments and says the goal for Newcastle in to qualify for European competition.
