Newcastle United take the field for their first home and last preseason match

Today is the day of the controversial "Sir Bobby Robson Day" friendly match.  If you're part of the "Support the Team, not the regime" crowd and are boycotting, good on ya - but if you are watching or following along, feel free to jump in and comment along.

Newcastle United starters:

(4-4-2): Elliot; Debuchy, Yanga-Mbiwa, Coloccini (c), Santon; Ben Arfa, Tiote, Sissoko, Gutierrez; Sh Ameobi, Cisse

Newcastle United subs:

Krul, Dummett, Taylor, Cabaye, Anita, Gosling, Marveaux, Obertan, Sammy Ameobi, Gouffran

So we'll get to see a bit of Moussa Sissoko in what is widely seen by supporters as the central role that we'd like to see him in, Shola will get a chance to build upon his preseason goal scoring form and we'll get to see Jonas put in another shift of hard work.  Also of note, Best Director of Football in Football Joe Kinnear is taking in his first NUFC preseason match.

Howay the lads!
