Newcastle United were defeated 3-2 at home by Hull City Saturday. It was a back-and-forth affair that Newcastle dominated for much of the 90 minutes, but it's hard to say that the result was unjust, given their defensive miscues.
Loic Remy opened the scoring just 10 minutes in with an uncontested header from Papiss Cisse, who appeared to be trying to shoot, but Robbie Brady made a left down the left-hand side and finished finished one-time to equalize. Newcastle appeared to take control of the match just before the break, as Remy tallied again, but it wasn't long after the break that Ahmed Elmohamady scored on a free kick with a header that was somehow even more free than the one Remy had early on. Sone Aluko then put the visitors ahead in the 77th minute with a stunning volley that hit Tim Krul's left post and rebounded in.
I want to emphasize that players that come on as substitutes are not required responses. In other words, don't give somebody a 1 just because they didn't play enough to get a rating in your book. Simply leave that spot blank and move on. This week's deadline is 2359 BST on Sunday.
