Saturday was disappointing, no doubt (hello, understatement), but Newcastle have a chance to rebound a little bit with a midweek clash with Leeds (of Doing a Leeds fame) in the CapitalOne Cup. Let's get to it.
In an article that promises fireworks but doesn't deliver, Newcastle players were angry over the loss to Hull. The headline says players "clashed" in the dressing room, but there's no indication in the actual article of any drama outside of what you'd expect.
Here's a bit more on that, with Captain Fabricio Coloccini saying the players must expect better things and that they don't want a repeat of last year.
Alan Pardew wants Newcastle to take their frustrations out on Leeds.
Are you frustrated with Newcastle's lackluster summer? So is Joe Kinnear.
Newcastle's rankings have been leaked for this year's FIFA 14, if you're into that sort of thing.
Leeds fans are aching for the big time again, as 6,000 of them are expected to make the trip up to St. James' Park.
Leeds does have a spot here at SB Nation. Nothing up on the Newcastle match, but go say hello over at "Through it All Together".
Elsewhere around the league...
Sunderland sacked Di Canio. The Roker Report has excellent coverage, including who they think might take over at the Stadium of Light.
I thought this was interesting from Bitter and Blue. Outside of loving Manchester City's big win over Manchester United, they have some advanced stats up for the entire league.
Newcastle is away to Everton next in the Premier League. They have Lukaku and Royal Blue Mersey is quite pleased.
