Newcastle don't have a lot of time to dwell on their loss to Hull. It's off to the third round of the Capital One Cup, and a rare home game for the Magpies in domestic cup action. Newcastle hope they can regain the form that saw them take 7 out of a possible 9 points in Premier League play before Saturday's home loss to the Tigers. Leeds, meanwhile, have lost two straight in the Championship, where they currently are placed 13th.

We'll have line-ups posted when they're available. In the meantime, here's some reading material:

Through it All Together, SBN's Leeds blog has a preview. It's been nine years since the clubs met on Tyneside.

Matt Smith, no, not The Doctor, is hoping Leeds can improve on their position and get promoted into top flight. Smith bagged a goal this past weekend. He says the club is moving in the right direction. Does it come to fruition today at St. James' Park?

Alan Pardew is still "absolutely livid" over the loss to Hull. "To all intents and purposes, we let ourselves down," he says. I'm sure we'll be discussing this when we record the next episode of COming Home Podcastle on Thursday.

Never to early for January speculation: Newcastle are looking at Leeds full back Sam Byram.
