Joe Kinnear Makes A Move: Loan Arranger Strikes Again

The rather half-hearted #FreeRomain movement has finally been successful.

From Ligue 2 have you come, to Ligue 2 shall you return

Joe Kinnear has finally done something (besides finish a loan deal for a player we had all but signed in the winter window)!  Romain Amalfitano, who has been shown to be completely out of any conversation for first team contention under Alan Pardew has been sent on season-long loan to Ligue 2 side Dijon.  After showing some glimpses of potential that convinced Newcastle to bring him in on a free (also assuming that he wasn't confused with his brother Morgan) during the 2012-13 preseason, he started 1 match and made 4 sub appearances in the Europa League and appeared 0 times in the Premier League.

The move constitutes another reason to be concerned with the squad outside the starting XI as you would hope the players waiting in the wings (even 24-year-olds) would be of enough quality to garner a loan move to a Championship team... well, surely at least as a second option to actually, you know, contributing to the first team.  I'm glad for Romain as I've had a soft spot for him since he came and I'm glad for Joe Kinnear: Loan Arranger!
