One of the most anticipated summer signings for Newcastle United was dutch midfielder/striker Siem de Jong from Ajax. He'd been linked to the Toon forever and the team finally went out and signed him. de Jong dealt with some injuries early in the preseason, but looked fantastic in the few games he played and then was once again hit with an injury back in August and has been sidelined ever since.
NUFC fans got some good news on Tuesday though.
Siem is due back sometime in January and it will be a nice addition to a Newcastle team who's been on a fantastic run lately, but still need some help on the attacking front. Getting back someone like de Jong who can not only play the striker spot, but tuck behind someone like Ayoze Perez and pair with them as an attacking midfielder and a threat to the net.
