Toon Crier: Paul Dummett for Wales edition

Dummett gets the call, which Premier League team gets the most bang for their buck, and Shola Goals.

I usually try to keep these transfer free, as to not step on Alfie. It becomes really, really hard to do that this time of year.

Wales isn't going to the World Cup, but Paul Dummett will get some international duty this summer. The Newcastle defender has been named into the Welsh side that's set to take on The Netherlands just before the Dutch set off for Brazil.

Here is a most excellent read from The Mag on how much Newcastle has spent over the years under Ashley in comparison to other clubs, along with where those clubs have finished. Big spenders don't always make it to the top, it would seem.

A former chairman says Newcastle have to spend 40 million pounds this summer. Freddy Shepherd says what a few pundits have said: that given the lack of spending, a top 10 finish was an accomplishment.

Newcastle have gone so long without wining a trophy that memorabilia from their cup wins (Newcastle were an FA Cup Finals fixture in the 50's) is going up in value. This means that should Newcastle win another trophy, that Darren Rovell would say it's "devalued".

YouTube find for the day: Since Shola is on his way out, how about watching a goal compilation of him? He's got some great goals in there, but my favorits are the ones in European cometition. Hello, Barcelona!
