Welcome back, relevant football!
After the International Breaks this season were filled with World Cup Qualifiers, the tune-up friendlies seemed downright boring. But, the tune-ups are done, and ready or not the World Cup is (finally) here.
The festivities begin with the hosts, Brazil, taking on Croatia. It's the only game of the day, which is the last time you'll be saying that for nearly a month. Consider this your open thread for today's match. We'll post line-ups and other info leading up to kick-off.
Here's a preview from the Mothership for the match.
The Daily Mail previews the match as well.
Everyone, including turtles, says Brazil will win today.
Brazil and Croatia met once before in the World Cup, with Brazil winning 1-0 in group play in 2006.
