Early touring list omits Sissoko

The Frenchmen isn't on a squad list, according to a New Zealand source.

Newcastle United will be spending part of their pre-season touring New Zealand in late July. According to an early squad list, Moussa Sissoko isn't making the trip.

Perhaps you think that he isn't included because of the World Cup? Except teammate Mathieu Debuchy is included in the squad list. As is Tim Krul and Cheick Tiote.

The other omission in the squad is Papiss Cisse, though that is more of a fitness concern than anything.

Hatem Ben Arfa is included in the side, even though his situation with Newcastle is up in the air.

This squad list may be taken with a grain of salt, as it has been reported in the New Zealand press, but there have been no official announcements from the club. The English press has been similarly mum on the issue.

Newcastle will play Australian side Sydney FC (who are rumored to be looking at former Magpie Shola Ameobi) on July 22. Four days later, they take on New Zealand outfit Wellington Phoenix.
