Newcastle United have signed attacking midfielder Siem de Jong, the club announced on Tuesday. De Jong has been linked to Newcastle for a few transfer windows, but it appears the interest and links have finally turned into an actual transfer to Tyneside.

The 25-year old Dutch international has been a mainstay in the Ajax side that has been a consistent Champion's League participant and he's captained the side four seasons in a row.
Alan Pardew has said many times he wants a true No. 10 in Newcastle's formation and that's exactly what he'd be getting with Siem de Jong, the older brother of stiker Luuk, who had a disappointing loan spell with the Magpies last season.
Newcastle have been in dire need of a creative midfield presence that can put the ball in the back of the net since the team sold Yohan Cabaye to PSG in the January window. If de Jong can bring his form from the Eredivisie and Champions League, that's exactly what the Toon will get.
