In case you missed it yesterday, Newcastle have officially signed Remy Cabella. The Magpies bought the Frenchmen from Montpellier for 12 million pounds.

In case you actually did miss it, here's the picture that literally everybody in Newcastle tweeted yesterday:

Meanwhile, Cabella has nice things to say about his old club:

For those that don't speak French, "I thank the MHSC for everything he has done for me. Remain engraved in my heart. And thank you to all the people Pailladin."

Cabella spent the day posing for pictures around St. James' Park, and then posed with a lucky fan.

So, what does the signing mean for current Magpies? Well, it could mean that Hatem Ben Arfa is done at Newcastle.

Siem de Jong has been appointed vice captain for Newcastle. He was the skipper at Ajax. Also a vice captain: Cheick Tiote.

Luuk de Jong, aka 'the worst transfer in the league', says he'll bounce back after his bad run Tyneside.

Also, no one wants to pay Loic Remy.

Still looking to add to the squad, Newcastle have shown interest in Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

Here's some other possible transfer targets.

In the outgoing department, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is looking set to head back across the Channel to Saint-Etienne.

Tim Krul's on holiday, so expect to see Rob Elliot in goal during the pre-season.

The World Cup ended yesterday with Germany topping Argentina 1-0 in extra time to win it.

The 2018 World Cup will be in Russia, and it comes with a hefty price tag.
