Newcastle United got some awful news on the injury front, as midfielder Siem de Jong is now eight weeks, at least, with a collapsed lung according to multiple reports. It's the second time in de Jong's career he's had the issue and will likely be out the rest of the season.

It's a heartbreaking blow for both Newcastle fans and for de Jong. Siem has been battling injury all season long after a strong preseason showing when he first joined the club from Ajax, but a shin injury derailed his official debut and he's been trying to comeback ever since. He was slated to return to the lineup in the next few weeks after getting some time with the reserve squad to get his fitness levels back.
It doesn't seem as if de Jong will play at all this season, which is a bad break for a Newcastle team starved for attacking threats, but for him personally lets hope for a speedy recovery.
