We have decided the fates of the senior squad goalkeepers, defenders and midfielders from the 2014-15 Newcastle United squad. You can see those results here and here. We now move on to the strikers, such as they are. We are again faced with a decision regarding a player who is getting older (by Newcastle standards) who is seeing some injuries mount up and is scheduling his own late-season vacation. What will you do with Papiss Cisse? He is the only player who has proven that he can score on a regular basis (but also had 2013-14, right?). We could be set to see the biggest landslide of this voting, however, as Ayoze Perez comes into the reckoning. Will he get fewer than the 3 "no" votes that Jack Colback received? How about loan striker Facundo Ferreyra, brought into the Newcastle squad on the word of (now former, according to the voting thus far) captain Fabricio Coloccini.
- This part of the exercise is meant to be thought of "in a vacuum", that is to say we won't entertain the hypothetical "if a good enough offer came in" question just yet. We will cross that bridge later in the week.
- Voting will remain open until 11 pm Central Time on Wednesday
- Feel free to leave a comment below if you need to clarify your position on a specific player!
