As if Newcastle's task wasn't hard enough as they head to Anfield, there is fresh injury concern for Newcastle United's already injury-ravaged squad.  According to the Evening Chronicle, Darryl Janmaat is listed as questionable for tonight's clash against Liverpool.

Janmaat played the full 90 against Sunderland in the Wear-Tyne derby on Easter Sunday, and physios suspected he tore a calf muscle. A scan late last week proved to be negative, but he still being closely monitored leading up to tonight's match.

Newcastle's back line is already threadbare, and losing Janmaat could be the possible breaking point. Carver may have to rely on one of three unproven or inconsistent players to fill the role. Medhi Abeid is a possibility, but his inconsistent play since returning from injury is a pause for concern. The two youngster options, Lubo Satka and Jamie Sterry, are both unproven and have been inconsistent in their play for Newcastle's U21's.
