Mitrovic in Newcastle for medical, deal to be completed soon

Ol' Reliable Sky Sports News reports Aleksandar Mitrovic is in Newcastle for a medical. Where do we go from here?

I woke up this morning to some good yet conflicting news regarding Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The first bit of exciting news was his "official" Facebook page announced he was leaving Anderlecht to wear black and whites again.

Its over! Again in black and white :))Thank you RSC Anderlecht !Thank you for everything!

Almost immediately after seeing that, the cries of "It's a fake page!" took over. The dejection and memories of past transfer windows quickly took over until I saw Sky Sports News' Twitter post:

The past feelings subsided and the excitement kicked in. This kid can score some goals!

We previously reported on links going back to early May when we were still battling relegation. First we heard it was a "done deal", then his family "entourage" (minus his dad) toured St. James's Park. After that was the rumor of his dad stalling the deal, hoping his 20 year old son would go to Roma or Porto for Champions League football.

Now, it appears he's coming to the Toon for £13m!

Why is there such a big fuss over this 20 year old striker? He scores goals, that's why! The 6'2" youngster scored 23 goals in 44 matches over all competitions and 30 in 78 since his move to Anderlecht in August, 2013.

The Anderlecht connection doesn't end there. In addition to the young striker, Newcastle is believed to be close to landing one of their center backs, Chancel Mbemba. There could be complications to his deal. Per The Mag, CNN discovered that Mbemba is listed in various places with four different birthdays.

I for one am excited to see Mitrovic in the black and whites and want to see a couple of defenders brought in this season. It might be wise for all involved to back away from Mbemba and look elsewhere.
