Expected a better result? I sure did. Newcastle United may have defeated Rotherham, the club in last place in the Championship, but it wasn’t by a much of a margin. Just a one goal difference between a draw and a victory.
But the man who made all the difference was Christian Atsu, on loan from Chelsea. In his first start of the season, he managed to prove that he deserves that starting spot by scoring early in the match to give Newcastle a one goal lead.
If it weren’t for that one goal lead, we’d be having a very different discussion right now. leIt weren’t for that one goal lead, we’d be having a very different discussion right now.
With his fabulous performance, do you guys think that Atsu will find himself starting in two weeks time against Brentford? A lot can happen during training, but as it stands, I truly believe that Atsu has shown that he deserves to be on that pitch at least one more time as a starter to give us a better look into how he is as a player.
