Believe it or not, the goal you are about to see is a Newcastle United goal, scored by Ayoze Perez. After 22 passes, and ball control like never before, Ayoze Perez connects on the 22nd pass to make the score 1-0 after just one minute of play against Ipswich Town.
Rafa Guardiola? Pep Benítez? Manchester City? No, Newcastle... pic.twitter.com/PXQscdRLq1

You expect passing play like this from clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and other top tier clubs, not Newcastle United. On point passing, stellar vision, and exemplary ball control all led to Perez’s one-timer that gave Newcastle United the early lead.
Take a look at this map of passes that led to thousands of cheers at St. James, and even more with people watching at home.

Just like they practiced? I highly doubt they practiced that. But Benitez’s work with the club is paying off. Seeing strong passes, and more control of the ball is something that the club lacked last season.
Let’s just say Newcastle United had Ipswich guessing every second of that play.
