Per multiple sources, Andros Townsend has completed a 13 million euro transfer to Premier League side Crystal Palace.
Townsend appeared in just 13 games since coming to Newcastle midseason this year from Tottenham. While with the Magpies he registered one goal with four assists. The departure of Townsend, however, seemingly does not have the Newcastle brass concerned — likely due to his departure being imminent once the squad was officially relegated.
“Despite Andros' departure today, we believe with the signings we have made this week we have strengthened the squad,” said managing director Lee Charnley.
"Rafa and I are working very well together and we are confident we are building a squad that will meet our objectives for the season ahead of us.”
