Jamie Sterry has returned from his loan at Coventry City and is back at Newcastle United. His time at Coventry City was successful, with the right-back making 20 appearances and in that time scoring his first every professional goal in the FA Cup.

Sterry is a promising right-back, and it is unknown whether or not Rafa Benitez will look to loan the player out again in January, or offer him more first team football with the current squad. As it stands, there is no place for Sterry with the current team that Rafa has built for the Championship.

It is likely that we will see Sterry loaned out once again to another club, which will do him good. If you ask me, I’d rather see Sterry get a couple chances with Newcastle United in the Championship and see how he fares.

While the club is in no real position to be tampering with youth players in its squad, it wouldn’t hurt to mix up the defense a bit, which has been struggling over the past few matches.
