Hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful Tuesday! As usual, there is lots to discuss. Let’s get right into it.
Apparently West Ham reached out to Rafa Benitez for the manager position before appointing Moyes as the head man. This of course could be speculation but, to be honest, is not too surprising. Also, it is reported that Benitez was not the only person to reject the offer. (The Sun)
Danny Ings is yet again targeted for a transfer to Newcastle. As more and more strikers are being listed as targets for the January Transfer Window, a big question mark is above Mitrovic’s head. Where does this leave him? (Chronicle)
A few interesting quotes from Benitez regarding the frustrating string of games that have seen us grab 5 points in our last 6 games (18 possible points);
The length of the season of the Championship might’ve caused some players to forget just how difficult the Premier League is. Also;
Regarding our loss to Bournemouth where we saw a last minute goal conceded. (The Mag)
Around the Premier League
I mentioned this on yesterday’s Toon Talk in the comments section, but for those who did not see, Kyle Martino is taking a hiatus from NBC Sports to run for US Soccer President. As SonicRover nicely put it, Martino is “walking the walk” as he has been very critical of the USMNT. (ESPN FC)
