A new striker seems to be on the wish list for Rafa Benitez this summer. ‘The Northern Echo’ reports that one of the men on top of that list is Bournemouth Striker Joshua King. Not a big name in the league, however his goal scoring record states otherwise.
The 25-year-old Norway international has scored 16 goals in the Premier League this season, which is 8th most. That is an impressive goal in every 170 minutes. This season alone, King has more goals than Christian Benteke, Jermain Defoe, Eden Hazard, and Olivier Giroud. In the last three months, King has scored an impressive 12 goals in 15 games.
King signed with Manchester United at the age of 16. During that time, he had loan spells at Preston North End, Borussia Monchengladbach, Hull City and Blackburn. After his loan at Blackburn he was allowed to leave Manchester United to join the Rovers permanently. King then moved to Bournemouth on a free transfer for the prospect to play in the top flight.
King is rumored to be a target for both Tottenham and Newcastle. If he does end up in black and white, we all hope he continues his goal scoring form.
