23-year-old former Newcastle United player Gael Bigirimana signed with Motherwell FC on a two-year deal via free transfer. According to Motherwell, he rejected many other teams in England to remain in Scotland’s top tier.
Bigi played for Newcastle from 2012 – 2014 before being loaned out to Rangers and Coventry City. For Newcastle, he made 13 appearances in both the Premier League and Europa League fixtures. He scored his first and only goal in 2012 against Wigan.
Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson had this to say about Gael. “Gael is a super signing for us, he gives us something we’ve been missing in midfield and comes with a great pedigree, having played at a very good level.” We wish Gael nothing but the best.
