Matz Sels (Goal Keeper) – Anderlecht

8th place Anderlecht was at home on Sunday August 6th against 11th place KV Oostende. Sels got the start and his 2nd straight shutout in a 1-0 win.

6th place Anderlecht will go on the road to face 3rd place Sporting Charleroi in a league match on Sunday, August 13th.

Alex Gilliead (Forward/Winger) – Bradford City

Bradford City opened up their League One season at home to Sean Longstaff and Blackpool on Saturday, August 5th. Gilliead spent the day on the bench as his team won 2-1

Bradford hosted Doncaster Rovers in the first round of the EFL League Cup on Tuesday, August 8th. Gilliead started the game and was subbed out in the 65th minute in a 3-2 loss.

4th place Bradford city will travel to 14th place Gillingham on Saturday, August 12th in a League One Clash.

Tom Heardman (Center Forward) – Bury

Bury opened up their League One campaign at home to Walsall on Saturday August 5th. Heardman was not named into the squad. Bury won 1-0.

The next match is in the first round of the EFL League cup, Bury hosted the Mackems on Thursday, August 10th. Heardman was not named in the squad once again in a 1-0 loss.

7th place Bury’s next match will be away to Ivan Toney and 10th place Wigan Athletic on Sunday, August 13th.

Adam Armstrong (Center Forward) – Bolton

Bolton started their EFL Championship campaign at home against Leeds United on Sunday, August 6th. Arma did not start the match and came in as a sub in the 84th minute in a 3-2 loss.

Bolton then traveled to League 2 Crewe Alexandra for the EFL League Cup 1st round on Wednesday August 9th. Armstrong started and scored in the 19th minute to tie the match at 1-1. Bolton ended up winning 2-1 and will advance to the 2nd round of the EFL League Cup.

16th place Bolton will travel to face 21st place Millwall on Saturday, August 12th in a Championship matchup.

Sean Longstaff (Central Midfield) – Blackpool

Blackpool played their opening League One match away to Alex Gilliead and Bradford City on Saturday, August 5th. Longstaff was an unused substitute in a 2-1 loss.

Blackpool traveled to Ivan Toney and Wigan Athletic for the first round of the EFL League Cup. The game was played on Tuesday, August 8th. Longstaff started and played the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 loss.

The 16th place Tangerines are home against 19th place MK Dons in a League One Matchup on Saturday, August 12th.

Ivan Toney (Center Forward) – Wigan

Wigan opened their season in League One on Saturday, August 5th away to MK Dons. Toney started the match and was subbed out in the 67th minute in a 1-0 win for the Latics.

Wigan was home against rivals Blackpool and fellow Newcastle Loanee Sean Longstaff in the first round of the EFL League Cup on Tuesday August 8th. Wigan one 2-1 however, Toney was not named in the squad.

Callum Williams (Center Back) – Gateshead

Williams was sent on his first ever loan assignment to National League side and local club Gateshead. This loan spell will only last six months as Callum will look to boost the Tynesiders back line.

Gateshead hosted National League foe Guiseley in the season opener and came out 1-0 winners. Callum got the start and made his 1st team debut. Williams took home Man of the Match in his first ever 1st team match. A pretty impressive feat.

11th place Gateshead will be home once against 19th place Torquay United in a National League clash on Saturday, August 12th.

The U23s will start their season in the Premier League 2 on the road against Stoke City. The game will be played on Friday, August 11th.

The U18s next match will be the start of their league campaign. They are home to Manchester City with the game being played on Saturday, August 12th.
