Newcastle have decided that today will be the day that they finally make a ton of moves. This definitely is not anyone’s fault. Rafa just decided yesterday that he is willing/wants to sell Dwight Gayle, and the majority of players Rafa was looking to get rid of have all agreed to terms with new teams now. All of this has resulted with a very busy day for reporters and fans alike that has got people feeling somewhat optimistic, but also worried about this window.
Dwight Gayle May or May Not Be Sold... Who knows?
To start off the day it was reported that Fulham have submitted a £15million pound bid for Dwight Gayle. This is still a profit from the £10million we paid for him last summer, but is still not the asking price that Benitez has stated. The major block in the transfer from being done is not necessarily the price, but whether or not Newcastle can get a replacement for Gayle before the window is over. Newcastle of course would want almost 20million pounds for Gayle, but the fear of selling him without a replacement is a much bigger concern than a couple more million for him. Rafa’s number one replacement seems to be Liverpool’s Divock Origi . Origi is available for season long loan from Liverpool with the club reportedly wanting the team that takes him to start him and give him a ton of playing time. As it stands, Origi has played a whopping 9 minutes this season, which is not enough for him or his dad. Newcastle face a lot of competition for the starlet as Tottenham, Wolfsburg and an unnamed French Club are also interested in the Belgian.
Grant Hanley is Gone #ThatBoyGone
Grant Hanley officially left the club today for £5million pounds to sign with Norwich City on a 4-year deal. This was a much needed deal for both teams as Newcastle need to move players and Norwich desperately need to fix their back line. Norwich currently sit 22nd in the Championship table and have conceded 12 goals in five games. That obviously is not good.

Grant seems happy with the move, he had this to say today: "It's a club with high aspirations and a fresh start for me. As a defender, I'm a bit of an old-fashioned no-nonsense centre-half and you pride yourself on clean sheets.”
Norwich boss Daniel Farke added: "We're really pleased to sign Grant because it is clear our defensive line needs strengthening. He is a quality defender with very solid experience and is a leader too. I really like his attitude and his desire to come and play for us as well as the attributes he will add on the pitch."

It is pretty obvious that the Norwich defense needs some help, and while Grant couldn’t really help us there, he certainly should be able to help Norwich in that department. We wish you the best of luck Grant!
Loan Deals Looking Likely
Newcastle’s wage budget also looks to be decreased significantly with the possible loans of Archaf Lazaar and Jack Colback.
Lee broke the story on Lazaar possibly being loaned to Italian side Benevento Calcio. This would clear about £1million in wages for NUFC.

Jack Colback has also been rumored to be joining Championship side Wolves on a season long loan.

Colback is of course another player that Newcastle has been trying to offload this season, and a player that fans have been wanting to offload for a while. This tweet just about sums it up

Hopefully both of these deals are done soon, both of which look favorable for the player and NUFC. We know that Lazaar is going to love the beautiful climate of Southern Italy (hopefully enough to stay there forever), and Colback should slot in nicely with another Championship team looking to be promoted (plus he gets to play Sunderland!).
Fizzling Out
Newcastle reportedly submitted a €20million euro (£18million pound) bid that was rejected for highly rated Sampdoria Attacking Midfielder Dennis Praet. This is rumored to be rejected because Sampdoria manager Marco Giampaolo has already lost Patrick Schick to Roma and does not want to lose another young talent from his team.

As for targeted Argentine Left Back Nicolás Tagliafico, the only new news over the past couple of days is that the player’s agent has said that the bid for him has been complex. The Chronicle initially reported that this could make the deal unlikely, but this was all before the possible sale of Dwight Gayle surfaced as well as the possible loan deals that are eminent, and the actual sale of Grant Hanley. All of those should clear up space for Newcastle to submit a new bid or offer the Argentine more money.
