Fan favorite Aleksandar Mitrovic has accepted a three-match ban from competition following an incident with West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini. The incident found Mitrovic with an unneeded elbow to Lanzini’s head that went unnoticed by referee Neil Swarbrick. This suspension is the only negative to take away from the 3 to 0 victory by the Magpies.

The ban will result in matches against Swansea, Stoke, and Brighton to be without the powerful striker. But, luckily, Mitrovic’s possible return could be against Liverpool, at St. James’ Park, on October 1st.

This suspension is happening at quite an interesting time as the summer Transfer Window is about to close, and the rumors of selling Dwight Gayle and possibly buying or loaning another striker. Rafa Benitez has a lot to think about.

What do you guys think of the ban? Do you think the FA is being consistent with their disciplinary actions? What about Harry Kane’s tackle on Lejeune? Let me know.
