First Team Injuries:

DEF Paul Dummett - Hamstring - Out indefinitely

DEF Massadio Haidara - Knee - Out indefinitely

DEF Florian Lejeune - Ankle - Returning to lineup

Newcastle United did not let a myriad of injuries muddle the early portion of their premier league homecoming season, picking up 9 points from an available 18. Although Rafa’s depleted defense had to experiment with players in different positions than usual after opening weekend, their efforts limited opponents to only 3 goals conceded in the ensuing 5 matches.

After strong performances at left back from Chancel Mbemba, Ciaran Clark, and Jesus Gamez, Newcastle fans are certainly not losing sleep over the prolonged absences of Dummett and Haidara.

Florian Lejeune’s return to the pitch is a welcomed sight, but it would merely be the cherry on top of a Sunday victory against Liverpool.
