Newcastle are continuing their outgoings as Grant Hanley is expected to leave for Norwich City. Hanley has had trouble breaking into the first team and is said to be heading to Norwich for a medical. This is likely the second player to leave this week, before the deadline.
Mikel Merino is saying he wants to become a complete footballer. He impressed in Newcastle’s 3-0 victory and is making a strong claim to start for the first team. Mikel said
“I like to give the passes to my teammates because I think it’s the best way to win matches. Precise passes and to go forward, that is what I try. Sometimes you misplace passes, because you take risks in order to give a good pass to someone in front. But when the pass is good, it creates a clear chance for our team so I try to give these passes. If I fail with half of it, then it doesn’t matter because I know the other half will be good chances.”

Fulham have brought forward a £15M bid for Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle. The 29-year-old is believed to be available and after his championship goal scoring record last season, he could require a hefty fee. However, Newcastle will not make a deal until a replacement is found.
Jack Colback looks like another to leave as Hull and Wolves have been tracking the player. Colback has been a serviceable player for the toon but he is not in Rafa’s plans and will be hard to get playing time over Merino and Shelvey.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is noticeably upset and frustrated due to the lack of backing from ownership from the club.
Tim Krul said he will always have a connection with Newcastle. Krul said “It would have been my 12th season. The connection will always be there. Obviously, I had an injury and went out on loan. I’m back fit, and the manager wanted to go another way. That’s why I’m here. I’m excited. I got the opportunity to sign for a great club like Brighton in the Premier League.”
Lucas Perez signed with Deportivo La Coruna instead of Newcastle. It is reported that Newcastle have offered more money than the Spanish Club but the player preferred a return to his former team.
