Mbemba has reportedly been injured while playing against Tunisia. This was a very important game for DR Congo as they continue their push to qualify for the World Cup, but the injury leaves Newcastle down another defender. The severity of the injury is not known yet, but we all hope he was taken off for precautionary reasons.
The injury came in the 60th minute of the match, with DR Congo holding a 2-0 lead. It is also worth noting that Mbemba scored a nice goal for them to take the 1-0 lead in the 9th minute. But DR Congo could not hold the lead after Mbemba’s exit, as the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

A goal that many Newcastle fans will not care about as the health of Chancel is what is most important. Mbemba has been an important piece to our line up, filling in for injuries that have already occurred to Lejeune and Dummett. Get well soon Chancel!
