Now that Mike Ashley has promised to back Rafa this window (only 21 days late Mike), we now have a few transfer rumors to digest.

Kenedy (Transfermarkt Value: £6.30m)

The first rumor is nothing new to fans, as it looks as if Newcastle should finally be able to secure a loan deal for Kenedy. Chelsea look set to sign Roma’s Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko for a fee of £44 million. If all goes well, that should open the door for an exit for Kenedy.

It is not certain whether it will be a loan deal or loan to buy deal, but nonetheless the deal should happen hopefully by the end of the week.

Many fans do know the Brazilian Kenedy is a Left Back that can play along the entire left side of the pitch, even slotting in as a Midfielder or winger if needed. The Brazilian is only 21, and has found first team minutes hard to come by at Chelsea who have the likes of Marcos Alonso, Cesar Azpilicueta and a whole host of talented players who can play left back.

Bruno Peres (Transfermarkt Value: £8.1m)

The Chronicle claims that Italian reports have stated that Newcastle have enquired for a different Roma defender, Bruno Peres, a right back. Roma, have been listening to offers of around 8 million for Peres, which you have to imagine must be in Newcastle’s price range.

The Brazilian just signed this past summer from Torino, and has had a solid career thus far, even drawing interest from PSG and Bayern at one point. The Brazilian can play both right and left back and would add much needed depth at the fullback position, as Manquillo is the only other fullback besides Dummett and Yedlin used this season.

It is not certain whether the Brazilian would start, but you would imagine that he would given that he made over 30 appearances last year while on loan with Roma. This season however, he has mustered only 14 appearances playing behind Kolarov and Florenzi. Roma seem keen to let the Brazilian go as they have been listening to offers for the fullback that are around 8 million. The Brazilian is older, and has the experience this back line would need, especially if Kenedy comes in to start over Dummett. You do however, have to ask if this signing would hinder the development of Deandre Yedlin or would earning from an accomplished fullback help the young American.

Andre Schurrle (Transfermarkt Value: £16.2m)

The Daily Mail broke the story that Newcastle are interested in bringing in Word Cup winner Andre Schurrle on loan from Dortmund. Schurrle can play as both a winger and a forward who finds himself behind Aubameyang, Maximilian Phillip and Christian Pulisic.

Dortmund are reportedly seeking to send out the German on a 18 month loan marketing his services to Premier League sides who can afford to pay at least half of hs £150,000 a week wages. You would imagine Dortmund is targeting sending him out on loan to Premier League sides, because it is the only league where it is possible that so many teams could afford to pay the £75,000 a week wages Dortmund is asking teams to pay. It is not certain whether Dortmund would consider selling the forward in a loan to buy deal or straight up cash offer. Given that he is an older player on a young talented team, I would not imagine that they would be opposed to that.

Kevin Gameiro (Transfermarkt Value: £18m)

Kevin Gameiro’s representatives are trying to get him out of Madrid, after he has fallen down the pecking order with the arrival of Diego Costa. He is looking to move to England to secure play time at a club in a top flight league especially with the World Cup coming up. NEwcastle have reportedly shown interest in signing the forward this window and are looking to get as deal done per the Sunday Mirror.

The French forward made 46 appearances across all competitions for Atletico Madrid, netting 16b goals. The forward has 6 goals in 15 appearances so far this season, but is hungry for more first team football. The 30 year old fills the biggest need Newcastle have this season, as he is known as one of the more clinical finishers in Europe. So far, no other teams have been linked to the forward, but it is hard to imagine teams passing up on the Frenchman

Joe Bryan (Transfermarkt Value: £450k)

Newcastle, Brighton, and Everton are battling it out for Bristol City Left Back Joe Bryan. Newcastle have reportedly sent in a bid of £7 million for the young Scot according to the Mirror.

You have to ask if this is a first choice transfer for Rafa, given he has already shown interest in two other fullbacks who have experience in top flight leagues. Bryan has not played in a Premier League match but has impressed for Bristol City this season, being consistently great in their back line all season. The 24 year old does seem keen on making the jump from the Championship to the Premier League through this transfer window, or by propelling his team to the Premier League via promotion. DOn’t expect a move to happen anytime soon though because Bristol are hosting Man City in the second leg of the semi-final of the Carabao Cup this week, and it is not likely that Bristol are going to sell one of their best players before such a crucial match.

Furthermore, Lee Johnson, manager of Bristol has claimed that there has been nothing solid from any Premier LEague clubs linked with Bryan and claims that Bristol are not a “selling club”. The skipper does not anticipate any major changes at the end of the window.

Martin Dubravka (Transfermarkt Value: £810k)

According to the Daily Mail, Martin Dubravka of Sparta Prague, the only target Newcastle have been linked to for more than a week besides Kenedy, is eager to move to Newcastle and wants a deal done.

international has started 11 out of the 16 games Sparta Prague have played this season, and has been impressive in those 11 appearances. He’s allowed in only 7 goals this season and currently has 6 clean sheets.

The Daily Mail report that the move would likely be a loan to buy deal, and it is not certain which party is pushing for that type of deal. All that is certain is Dubravka himself has been very forward on securing a move to England. He reportedly is excited to compete with Elliot and Darlow for a spot in the starting 11. Newcastle can only hope that his eagerness to move helps them.

Jonjo Shelvey (Transfermarkt Value: £9m)

Shelvey has been linked with a move away from Newcastle to West Ham since December. It is the opinion of many fans and Journalists that this move will not happen, as Shelvey is a regular on the team sheet for Newcastle.

West Ham have reportedly increased their interest reports Lee Clayton.

However, Chris Waugh doubts that any move would happen this window. The midfielder has started the past few games, and Newcastle would need both a sizable offer and the time to find a replacement if he were to be sold.

Mystery Striker

There have been numerous reports that Newcastle have placed a record breaking bid for a 20 million striker. Nobody has any idea who this striker ism, what team they play for, or if this is even a possibility under the Mike Ashley reign. Many fans have guessed that is either Gameiro or Schurrle given that both are rated around the 20 million mark. Mark Duffy, a former NUFC ESPN correspondent, seems to know exactly who this mystery striker is.
