What might get lost in all the news of the January Transfer Window closing, is that Newcastle has a home game. A massive one. After a surprising Swansea win over Arsenal, the race to stay alive in the Premier League is tighter than ever. With Swansea securing three points, they are now out of the basement of the league and sit one place behind Newcastle (with one more game played). A Newcastle win could potentially push them six points away from 20th and three points away from 18th, depending on results of other matches.
But besides watching the live table results, there are things to be excited about for this match. Something that many people have been itching to see is Kenedy. Fans will get what they asked for and he will be starting in today’s match. Also, Mikel Merino will make his return to the lineup. Here is Newcastle’s starting XI:

Burnley on the other hand will lineup like this:

This game is important in many ways but Rafa Benitez will look for a positive result to improve their home form. Newcastle hasn’t won at St. James’ since October. The squad will need to work hard to change that result.
