Newcastle U23s Continue Winning Ways

U23s beat Villa U23s 5-2. Could we see a 1st team call-up?

Elias Sorensen did it again. He led NUFC U23s to a 5-2 win over Aston Villa U23s in the Premier League 2 D2 contest.

Sorensen now has 11 goals in 9 matches for all competitions.

Villa struck first but it was Sorensen in the 24th minute who received a pass from Sean Longstaff who was able to knock it home to tie the match. Great run by Longstaff to set it up.

In the 27th minute, NUFC get a penalty due to a hand ball that Callum Roberts converted. Shortly after that, Villa tied the match at 2-2.

With about 10 minutes to go in the Half, it was Sean Longstaff who got some magic and fired a ball from 35 yards out beating the Keeper to make it 3-2.

It became 4-2 in the 39th minute when Cal Roberts sent in a cross which was met by Elias Sorensen who put it in the back of the net.

In the 55th minute the scoring ended with Cal Roberts getting another assist, passing it to Sorensen who smashed it in for the Hat Trick

NUFC U23s next match will be home against Middlesbrough in the Premier League 2, Division 2 on Friday.
