It was Elias Sorensen once again who got on the score sheet along with NUFC U23 Player of the Month Callum Roberts that led Newcastle to a 2-1 Victory against Notts County in the Premier League Cup.
It was Achraf Lazaar that pushed the ball up the pitch and delivered a great cross to a diving Elias Sorensen for a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute.
In the 43rd minute it was Cal Roberts who got the ball at the half-line and drove up the middle blasting a goal past the keeper to make it 2-0 going into Half-Time.
Notts were able to get 1 back but in the end, it wasn’t enough as the Reserve Magpies won their first group stage match of the Premier League Cup.
The U23s next match is once again against Notts County, however, it will be their 1st team as its the 2nd match in the group stage of the Checkatrade Trophy. NUFC are top of the Group with 3 points after 1 match played. Notts County sits in 3rd after losing to Grimsby Town.
