Friend of CHN Radio, and Miguel Almiron expert Roberto Rojas has just dropped a “Rojbomb™” right before Newcastle’s match against Everton. Rojas has made the claim that a deal for Almiron is done and it will be a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season for £15m.
Hearing from sources that Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almiron to Newcastle United is a done deal. There are a few things left to be done but probably will join in the winter transfer window. Possibly a loan deal with an option to buy of around £15m at the end of the season.

Almiron is of course the attacking midfielder who is thought to be the number one target of Rafa Benitez. Almiron plays his football for Atlanta United FC of the MLS, and his dominance in that league has made him a regular with the Paraguayan National team. The 24 year old normally plays as a CAM, but can be used as a winger on either side or a second striker.
As for Rojas’ credibility, he is the expert on Almiron and has been quoted in tons of stories. Rojas has been covering South American soccer for years, specifically focusing on Paraguayan players such as Almiron. Rojas seems to be connected with the Almiron story more than most, as he has had conversations Almiron’s agent multiple times and recently had him on his podcast.
The details of the deal make sense for an Ashley run club, as well as Ashley’s new proclamation of selling as soon as possible. The fee is something Mike Ashley has spent close to, as he did so with the purchase of Jonjo Shelvey and Andros Townsend for a little over £14m each. The loan to buy deal is something Mike Ashley has been keen on doing these past couple of seasons with Atsu and Dubravka being examples of this. A deal like this also would not slow up a sale of the club, or force Mike to spend more than he wants to in January in case a deal is not done by January.
For more analysis on Almiron, check out our article by Mirza, on why he would be a great fit for Newcastle. If you want a peek at how exciting he is to watch, Atlanta United will be playing in the MLS Cup this Saturday, December 8th at 8PM EST/1AM BST. Rojas also appeared on our podcast CHN Radio, talking about Almiron and what kind of player he is, as well as how he fits into Newcastle. If you’re interested in that conversation, you can give it a listen here.
Additionally, Roberto will be talking about this news on the next episode of CHN Radio which is coming out tomorrow morning. Howay the Lads!
