After an impressive start to the season it was reported by the Chronicle that Newcastle were looking to extend the loan of 22 year old Brazilian Starlet Kenedy into next season.

Yesterday, it was revealed however, that Newcastle are interested in making the Kenedy deal permanent

Kenedy of course was the first signing Newcastle made in January after 2 straight windows of being linked with the Brazilian. Under Benitez loanee has made 6 appearances and has scored 23 goals and assisted once. He already has more starts under Benitez in a span of a few months than in his couple of years under Conte.

Newcastle of course will have to shell out money for the starlet. He arrived to Chelsea from Fluminense for £6.3million for in 2015, so Chelsea will certainly be looking to generate a nice profit for the lad.

A similar situation occurred in Bournemouth with Nathan Ake, who joined Bournemouth permanently after half a season (2016-2017) for a steep £20million. I am not saying Newcastle will have to shell out £20million for Kenedy, but they will have to shell out the cash for him especially since Chelsea weren’t looking to sell him in the first place.

Newcastle’s initial talks revolved around a loan to buy deal for the winger, but that ultimately was unsuccessful as Conte did not want to part ways with Kenedy. Newcastle are now revisiting a deal for the Brazilian especially now that it is rumored that Conte will be leaving the club at the conclusion of the season.

It is fair to say that the legitimacy of the deal is going to be influenced on whether or not Conte is at Chelsea next season and what the future manager’s plans are for Kenedy. However, ultimately the deal is going to come down to whether or not Mike Ashley will shell out the cash for Kenedy. Rafa knows what he wants, the fans know what they want, it’s going to be on Charnley and Ashley to make it happen.
