England U21s were invited to the Toulon Tournament and it ended up being a worthwhile trip.
England defeated Mexico 2-1 to win the Toulon Trophy for their 7th title in the competition. Magpies Adam Armstrong and Freddie Woodman both played in the match with Woodman starting and Arma coming in as a 76th minute sub.
While the U21 trophy is yet another bullet point on the resume for Freddie Woodman, doubts still remain for Armstrong. Arma started the 17/18 season with Bolton in the Championship. To say it didn’t go well might be an understatement. Arma netted one goal and zero assists in 20 appearances with the Wanderers.

Most defenders of Arma claim he had no quality to behind him to deliver the ball in box, opponents of him claim, he just isn’t up for it.
In January, NUFC decided to bring him back and loan him out to League One Blackburn. This loan spell was an instant hit. In 21 League One appearances, Arma had 9 goals and 3 assists for the Rovers.
This will undoubtedly be an important summer for him as he needs to make a push to the Senior team if he wants to continue his youth success. My question is what do the fans think? Vote below on what you, as chairman would do with the England youth international. Comment below on your thoughts.
